Historically, securing insurance for race boats during storage and transit has been challenging. Recognising this gap, Club Marine's new policy provides protection against accidental loss or damage, theft, and malicious damage when the vessel is on land and on its trailer. Additionally, the policy covers up to $2,000 (including GST) for non-refundable race and tournament entry fees if a covered incident causes withdrawal from an event.
Tim Wiles, CEO of Club Marine, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: "We are delighted to enter into a new relationship with the Australian Offshore Powerboat Club. This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting the sport and strengthening our connection with passionate boating enthusiasts across Australia."
AOPC Commodore Antony De Fina highlighted the significance of this offering: "Insurance like this had previously been non-existent. It's always a challenge with racing-we understand damage can occur under the pressures of competition, but it's the fear of damage during transit, or even worse, theft of equipment while stopped overnight or locked away in a factory, so this provides some welcome relief."
This initiative underscores Club Marine's dedication to the boating community, ensuring that race boat owners have access to comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to their specific needs.
